I've been a rover, searching his way
Stumbling and tripping forever
I'm a lover not a fighter
Though truthfully I'm not much of either
Lady luck's never been kind to me
And I haven't got much of either
Down to the bar with me and my mates
Where the pints flow for a dollar
I thought I found a cool drink of water
But it turned to be whiskey sour
When I finally find her
When my roving is over
I'll acquaint with the pavements and lawns
And spend my night in the slammer
